Flydubai was established in 2008 by the government of Dubai and it launched its first flights on the 1st of June 2009. Flydubai is the second largest low-cost Emirati airlines after Air Arabia. It is headquartered in Dubai and Dubai International Airport is the main airport for its operations. Emirates Airlines supported the launch of Flydubai in the initial stages.
Flydubai operates 1400 flights per week to more than 85 international destinations in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Europe. The fleet of Flydubai consists of different Boeing models. Flydubai workforce has reached more than 3000 employees from 111 different nationalities.
Flydubai adds Al-Jouf and Red Sea International Airport to its destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Flydubai, the low-cost Emirati air carrier, announces the launch of flights to two destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the resumption of flights to Al-Jawf, and the start of its flights to the Red Sea International Airport. Flights will start to Al-Jouf Airport and Red Sea International Airport starting April 18, with two flights per week from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport.
Based on its efforts to expand and develop, flydubai’s flight network has grown to 129 destinations in 58 countries, and is served by a modern and active fleet consisting of 86 Boeing 737 aircraft. Flydubai has opened its operations to Penang, Langkawi and Mombasa and announced the start of its flights to Basel, Riga, Sochi and Tallinn. And Vilnius this year.
Economy Class on Flydubai features comfort in terms of seat configuration. The seats are relatively large and have enough pitch for stretching feet. The passengers have the chance to pre-book their preferred meals or order them on board. They can have access to inflight AVOD available in return for nominal fees.
Business Class on board of Flydubai features luxury. The seats are larger than Economy Class and are made of fine Italian leather. The seats are adjustable and are equipped with flexible footrest and side power ports. The passengers are given complimentary access to AVOD to enjoy watching world class movies displayed on individual high resolution screens of 12.1 inches. They are also offered menus to select their meals and beverages. On ground services on Business class includes access to the airport waiting-lounges, fast check-in track and priority boarding the airplane.
