AlMasria Universal Airlines, also known as as-as AlMasria Airlines was founded in 2008 and launched operations in 2009. It is the first privately owned low-cost airline in Egypt and it operates regular and chartered flights. It is headquartered in Cairo and Burg Al Arab International Airport in Alexandria is the main aviation center for operations. AlMasria Airlines has secondary operational hubs in Hurghada International Airport, Assiut International Airport, and Luxor International Airport. Presently, AlMasria Airlines’ fleet consists of 4 aircraft and it operates domestic flights to a number of cities in Egypt and international flights to eight destinations predominantly to Saudi Arabia. The young airline plans to increase the number of its destinations to 18 and to enhance its presence in the Gulf states, North Africa and Europe. Offering cheap flight tickets at competitive prices, AlMasria Airlines’ motto is ‘value for services’ in order to secure the greater share in aviation and travel market. It has signed the contract with Egypt Air to carry out regular fleet maintenance.
