SriLankan Airlines was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in the SriLankan capital Colombo. It is the national airline of Sri Lanka and a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Bandaranaike International Airport is the main hub for its operational.

Seats on Economy class cabin are comfortable and the cabin is equipped with individual screens supported by entertainment program. It contains more than 100 movies, radio channels, and games. The passengers are offered complimentary meals from different world cuisines, beverages and snacks served every 45 minutes.
