The Alto Apartment is located on a rocky terraced hillside, with splendid views overlooking the picturesque Italian town of Amalfi. A new airport opened in Salerno in mid 2008 to service the region, and there is always the Naples Airport as well. Buses and trains both run from Salerno to Amalfi, as well as from other towns like Sorrento, Naples, Positano, and Praiano. A public bus stop is situated just a few metres from the bottom of the stairway leading to the Alto Apartment. During the summer months hydrofoil boats also run along the coast connecting Amalfi to larger Italian cities.
