Showcasing a royal history and grandeur, the heritage hotel was commissioned by Maharaja Ganga Singh, the King of Bikaner. Transitioned into a hotel from his residence, the property was originally built between 1896 and 1902 and designed by the British architect Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob. The 106-year-old property has hosted royalty like King George V and Queen Mary, as well as several notable guests. Today, it is distinguished for its intricate architecture, accompanied with luxurious interiors that feature chintz drapes and hand-painted walls. The rooms are divided into four categories, namely Royal Deluxe Rooms, Palace Rooms, Historical Suites and Royal Suites-all of which surround you with a nostalgia of the great Rajputana heritage. The two in-house restaurants serve Thai, Indian and continental cuisine while the bar offers exotic liqueurs and features spoils from age-old royal hunts. Performances by Rajasthani artists are arranged upon request at a day's notice, and feature fire dances, ghazals and more.
